We receive our lobsters, langoustines, sea urchins, oysters, and other sea delicacies freshly caught, ensuring the highest degree of freshness. Governed by Head Chef Ivans Šmigarevs and Creative Chef Dzintars Kristovskis, Barents’ internationally renowned kitchen team strives to bring out the pure flavors of each ingredient by developing complex dishes that excite all five senses. 

Our award-winning sommeliers will guide you in finding harmonious accompaniments to your meal. Barents’ carefully curated wine list is an ode to grower champagnes, including Egly-Ouriet, Vazart-Coquart & Fils, and Tarlant, as well as to cool climate wines. Personable service ensures that every visit to the restaurant is a festive experience, elevated by an elegant, minimalist interior and the scenic location of Riga’s Old Town. 

To round off the evening, the adjoining Cocktail & Seafood Bar serves perfectly shaken and stirred cocktails – from mixology classics to signature recipes.

Exquisite collection of fine & rare wines curated by leading European sommeliers and champions, from the great classic regions and well-known wine producers,
such as Château Latour, Domaine de Montille and Egly Ouiret. 
And up and coming stars from smaller and lesser known appellations like Françoise Chidaine, Muchada Leclapart and Le Soula.
We have established personal contacts with the winemakers and import our wines directly from the producer’s cellar doors, guaranteeing quality and authenticity.

From well-crafted classics to signature cocktails with a uniquely Nordic twist – we invite you to enjoy a pre-theatre or post-dinner cocktail, or just come to celebrate in style. All our fusions, syrups and bitters are made in close collaboration with Barents chefs.

Chef's table

Sizzling food, fast-cutting knives, and clouds of steam rising from pots and pans, while the team of chefs work in a hasty harmony – all elements come together in a symphony of fine cuisine. There are just six front-row seats to this chef-orchestrated show, set in front of the 2000-year-old black oak counter, the only thing separating you from the open kitchen and its maestro, Head Chef Ivans Šmigarevs. Ivan’s jocular personality is an intrinsic part of the experience.

Barents restaurant is a place to celebrate special life events. Therefore we kindly ask our guests to follow smart or smart casual dress code.
Children who are familiar with restaurant etiquette are welcome to Barents. Please note that we do not serve separate children menu.
Barents restaurant does not provide accommodations for pets, we kindly ask to leave pets at home when visiting restaurant Barents or restaurants Summer Terrace.

Private events

We offer catering for private events at client’s venue.
Barents seafood bar, suitable for up to 15 guests, can be also booked for events and private dining.
